CODE-YAA Honors PACED with the “Institutional Influencer Award” for Excellence in Palliative Care Education
As part of the COST Action CODE-YAA@PC-EDU project, we are proud to announce that the Institutional Influencer Award has been presented to PACED (Advancing Palliative Care Education Across Regions). This award recognizes PACED’s outstanding contribution to science communication and its transformative impact on palliative care education across international borders.
Bridging the Gap in Regional Healthcare
PACED, a UK-based international non-profit, has distinguished itself through its unwavering commitment to enhancing palliative care systems in Central Asia, Eastern Europe, the South Caucasus, and the Baltic states. In regions where palliative care infrastructure often faces structural and policy challenges, PACED has moved beyond short-term interventions to establish sustainable professional capacity and long-term educational frameworks.
Why PACED?
The Institutional Influencer Award highlights PACED’s role as a catalyst for change. The organization was selected based on several key pillars of impact:
-
Knowledge Dissemination: Through high-level webinars, specialized schools, and academic publications, PACED has made high-quality education accessible regardless of geographic barriers.
-
Cultural and Ethical Integrity: Their focus on ethically sound and culturally appropriate care ensures that medical expertise translates effectively into diverse local contexts.
-
Advocacy and Perception Shift: By collaborating with policymakers and professional networks, PACED actively works to redefine palliative care—moving it from a “discretionary service” to an essential component of healthcare systems.
“The award reflects PACED’s ongoing commitment to advancing palliative care education and fostering sustainable professional communities. Their work in dispelling misconceptions and encouraging patient-centered approaches is a benchmark for science communication in the field.”
A Shared Vision for the Future
The CODE-YAA project celebrates PACED’s dedication to investing in knowledge, leadership, and communication. By empowering emerging leaders and fostering peer exchange through international networks, PACED is not just teaching—it is influencing the very future of how society perceives and provides end-of-life care.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the entire PACED team for their tireless efforts in making high-quality palliative care a reality for all.
