On 26 January 2026, Work Group 2 (WG2) of the COST Action CA22127 – CODE-YAA@PC-EDU convened for a one-day online meeting bringing together WG2 members from across Europe and partner countries. The meeting was co-led by Prof. Phil Larkin and Prof. Olga Riklikiene and focused on reviewing progress, addressing current challenges, and defining strategic priorities for 2026.
The meeting opened with an overview of the overall progress of the CODE-YAA@PC-EDU Action, including leadership updates and key milestones planned for the coming year. A central focus of the day was the translation of the validated Quality Indicators for Palliative Care Education, where participants reviewed completed translations, discussed methodological challenges, and agreed on next steps for ongoing and future translations. Particular attention was given to linguistic accuracy, conceptual equivalence, and cultural appropriateness across different national contexts.
Another major agenda item was the development of a Glossary of Terms to support the consistent translation and interpretation of quality indicators. The draft glossary, prepared by WG2 members and collaborators, was presented as a practical tool to enhance clarity, reduce ambiguity, and promote shared understanding across languages and educational systems. The group agreed that translating the glossary into multiple languages would significantly increase its impact and usability beyond the immediate CODE-YAA network.
Progress on the planned scoping review was also discussed. Due to methodological and practical challenges, the group agreed to discontinue the scoping review and instead refocus efforts on a more strategic and impactful output. This includes the preparation of a White Paper on translation, culture, and palliative care education, to be developed in collaboration with the EAPC Education Taskforce.
The meeting concluded with an open forum addressing dissemination strategies, including scientific publications, conference presentations, and the use of digital platforms to share WG2 outputs. Upcoming events for 2026, such as the Management Committee Meeting in Gdansk, the EAPC Congress, and the Summer School in Pamplona, were highlighted as key opportunities for visibility and knowledge exchange. Final remarks also included leadership transition planning within WG2 and confirmation of immediate next steps.
On this page, the official WG2 Meeting Minutes and the WG2 One-Day Online Workshop presentation (Progress, Plans and Possibilities) are made available to ensure transparency, support collaboration, and facilitate wider dissemination of WG2’s work within and beyond the CODE-YAA@PC-EDU Action.
