We are pleased to announce a new publication arising from the work of COST Action CA22127 CODE-YAA@PC-EDU: “Towards quality indicators in palliative care education: An umbrella review”, published in Palliative Care and Social Practice.
This umbrella review represents an important step in the conceptual development of the CODE-YAA framework. By synthesising evidence from 24 reviews, the study proposes a preliminary typology of quality indicators for palliative care education, organised around structural, process, and outcome indicators. These indicators provide a foundation for strengthening curriculum design, educational evaluation, and policy development in palliative care education.
The publication directly contributes to the mission of CODE-YAA@PC-EDU: to support high-quality, culturally appropriate, inclusive, and evidence-informed palliative care education across Europe and beyond. The findings offer guidance for educators, researchers, healthcare professionals, and policymakers working to improve training for all professionals involved in the care of people with serious illness.
We would like to extend our special appreciation to Anna J. Pedrosa, Tania Pastrana, and Stephen Mason for their outstanding contributions to this important work, and to all co-authors whose collaboration made this publication possible.
